The President’s Presentation

I was delighted and deeply honored to present Brendan Krueger our very first Richard J. Hammond Principal of the Year award on Sunday, June 9, at the school’s graduation ceremony. Brendan is the principal at Pine Tree Academy in Freeport, Maine and has continued in that specific ministry now for twenty-two years!

Why Brendan? Certainly there are many other principals that deserve to be thus honored. Hopefully our foundation will in the future recognize others of that calling as well.

Pine Tree Academy is a K-12 Seventh-day Adventist School. Thus, it serves a majority of its elementary and secondary age children primarily as a day school. However, there are also small dormitories for students who are from farther distances than a local commute. If my knowledge is correct, Pine Tree Academy has an enrollment of approximately 120 students.

The multitude of reports and reviews that have come to me throughout the last couple of decades relative to Principal Krueger have extolled his many virtues. Those observations, from parents, teachers (current and former under him, students (former and current) and local leaders, have all given him outstanding grades. I also can heartily attest to his qualification for this award.

It was not difficult for me to recommend him to our executive committee who voted him this honor.

Brendan is being greatly utilized of the Lord as he fills the challenging position of principal in a Christian school. May God continue to bless.

Addendum: The late Richard J. Hammond was the principal of Greater Boston Academy for 27 years! His influence continues to be felt among many now fifty plus years later. A godly man. A prince. An educator par excellence.
